Country-level Land Cover Gross Changes

Gross Changes

Gross Changes are stored as a text (“.csv”) file containing:

ISOCODE - Three-letter country/state code
UNSDCODE - United Nations standard country or area code for statistical use
NAME0 - English country/state name
Years_transitions - First and the last year in the dataset
Land_cover - Land cover category
Stable - Unchanged area of the given land cover category (in km²)
Gross_loss - Gross loss of the given land cover category area (in km²)
Gross_gain - Gross gain of the given land cover category area (in km²)

Gross Gains

Gross Gains are stored as a text (“.csv”) file containing:

Years_transitions - First and the last year in the dataset
From - Indicates which land cover category area has descresed
To - Indicates which land cover category area has increased
Gain - Gross gain of the area of the “To” category (in km²)

Gross Losses are stored as a text (“.csv”) file containing:

ISOCODE - Three-letter country/state code
UNSDCODE - United Nations standard country or area code for statistical use
NAME0 - English country/state name
Years_transitions - First and the last year in the dataset
From - Indicates which land cover category area has descresed
To - Indicates which land cover category area has increased
Loss - Gross loss of the area of the “From” category (in km²)
